about

'The titles of this music are as much a play on words as it's content is a play on musical idioms and abstraction based on the 30-year-old 'Ground Music' concept developed while composing for Blue Collar, the Andreas Willers Octet and Montauk among others, striving for further development of a contemporary European jazz language.
I would like to thank the supporters and promoters of 7 of 8 and all of the musicians from the Berlin scene who have been active in this project at different stages since 2013.' AW

‚Looking for an innovative jazz guitarist in command of all nuances from Derek Bailey to Bill Frisell while keeping venturous one finds Germany’s Andreas Willers. …The music on „The Goldman Variations“ is a multi-layered machine of complexity, staying powerful despite tricky rhythms and staying bright despite being steeped in the avantgarde.“ Rolf Thomas, FAZ

‚As a guitarist Willers explores a broad and innovative sound spectrum, which places him among the greats of contemporary jazz and improv guitarists. Excellent Work!‘ Geert Ryssen, Jazz&Mo

‚…succeeding in dragging, even skidding oneself out of the shitty so-being into a realm of relish.‘ Rigobert Dittmann, Bad Alchemy

‚Willers’ demonstrates his skills as a composer, orchestrator and soloist during this congenial session.‘ Ken Waxmann, Jazzword Reviews

‚You can tell that Mr. Willers put a good deal of work into this discs as each piece show his different compelling arranging and impressive playing.‘ - Bruce Lee Gallanter, DMG New York
